With a one-point loss against Village, the Warriors were eager for a win and the gym was standing room only. Students, families, and teachers, gathered for this anticipated match-up and to celebrate the seniors from both the basketball team and the cheer team. Seniors Dillon DePina and Jaden Ward along with cheerleaders, Zoë De Leon, Payton Northrup, Nevaeh Acosta, Elsie Moon, Emma Clancy, and Lauren Reel were all honored before the game.
The cheerleaders who were recently named FCC West Coast Champions kept the crowd on their feet as they electrified the fans. After the victory a current HCS student, Pedro Ramirez ‘20 declared, “It was a good game and it was funny how Village announced on Twitter that they were going to beat us and then lost by 30 points.”
Another student, Sarah Torres ‘22 states, “It was an exciting game especially since the last time we played Village we lost by one point but this time we won by 30 points.”
The top scorers in this 87-57 victory were Dillon DePina ‘20 with 24 points, Skyy Clark ‘22 with 21 points, and Max Allen ‘22 with 12 points. The team along with their parents, fans, students, and staff are excited and ready for the playoffs.
Come out tonight to support the Warriors in the first round of playoffs in the gym at 7pm against Campbell Hall.
