“The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1 (NIV)

Psalm 27:1 is a powerful reminder that God is our ultimate source of light, guidance, and protection. Just as light dispels darkness, God’s presence drives away our fears. When we are grounded in His strength, there is no need to fear, because His presence becomes our safe haven and shield.

When David penned these words, he was likely facing enemies and challenges that threatened his peace and security. Yet, he didn’t focus on his troubles; instead, he focused on the Lord. He didn’t draw his confidence from his own strength but from God’s presence and promises. This assurance can be ours as well.

We may face obstacles that seem insurmountable, but we can hold fast to the truth that God is with us. This week meditate on what fears or worries are weighing you down. Take a moment to bring them to God, asking Him to be your light and salvation in the midst of
