Dear Alumni:

On behalf of the ministry of Heritage Christian School, we extend our warmest wishes to each of you. You are, and always will be, an important part of our school. We would also like to welcome our 172 most recent graduates!

I am pleased to share with you that God has wonderfully blessed Heritage these early years as we move forward in our spiritual and educational ministry. I am so grateful to God for the miracle that took place when Los Angeles Baptist School and Hillcrest Christian School were united. What a powerful Christian testimony of the legacy of these great schools and their combined 86-year history. You, alumni, are making such an incredible impact in your communities, in our country, and in this world! In adding the alumni of Heritage, we are making an even greater impact!

Some of you have asked how you can help.

First and most importantly, we need your ongoing prayers. Heritage exists because of the prayers of so many individuals. Many Christian schools in the San Fernando Valley have closed their doors during the past few years. Christian ministries are facing more and more challenges. Resistance to Christianity is ongoing. Against this backdrop, Heritage has flourished…we know that our God is greater! Please add Heritage to your daily prayer list. Pray for God to protect our students and cover them with His love and grace; pray for God to bless and use our faculty and staff as they walk alongside the students; and pray for Heritage to be a tower of Christianity—a City on a Hill.

Second, Heritage, like other private schools, exists partially on donations from friends and alumni. Many students cannot afford to attend Heritage and so, Heritage assists a high percentage of these students with partial financial aid assistance. Where God has blessed you, you can be a blessing to worthy students by contributing to our financial aid fund or to our Merit Scholarship Program for Christian education—an investment in the lives and souls of our young people. If either of these areas would be of interest to you, please contact Armando Nunez, our Business Administrator, at

Next, I realize that some who received diplomas as Los Angeles Baptist Knights and Hillcrest Christian Eagles may not feel an attachment to Heritage. On our Heritage campuses, our desire is to preserve the greatness of LAB and Hillcrest. We are instituting several projects to memorialize the legacies of these great schools. Our gym and lobby have been redesigned to display the combined athletic achievement of LAB, Hillcrest, and Heritage. In addition, we would like to design an alumni display on both the LAB location (South Campus) and the Hillcrest location (North Campus) as remembrances of the many graduates. If you would like further information or would like to donate specifically towards this project, please contact Cindy Rosenfeld our alumni contact, at

In parting, I want to share a great joy with you—we have children of alumni at each of our three campuses! Some will be graduating from high school, middle school, elementary, and our preschool. What a blessing! Alumni, we hope that you consider Heritage for your children. For those who enroll, we would like to provide a 5% tuition reduction as our appreciation for your partnership.

Alumni, you are important. We need you on this journey. Although the name, mascot, and colors have changed, these great institutions were the foundations for our existence and our future. We would love to hear from you, so please feel free to contact us with any updated information, and let us know if you would like to come for a visit at any of our three campus locations. We are grateful for each one of you and hope that you will feel a vital part of our Heritage school family.

God’s richest blessings unto you.

Serving Him and you,

HCS Administration
